I really like the composition of this track and a good balance of different kind of instruments which you used here. Especially at 01:42 it has a really good transition in melodies and structure where it got a bit more suspense, after which it returns to the initial melody. I really like how the progression works in this track and how it builds up back to the basic melody which was used in the very beginning of the track to end suspense, which works very well.

Good job.

Thank you so much for this thoughtful review :-)

Ooh, peculiar atmosphere to this one.

I like that synth at 0:28, sounds just like the kind of waves which you hear in Synth Wave I think.
In 00:45 it really starts. This is a great mysterious ambient track, good balance between the different instruments and a good transition in the synths, I really like that small arpeggio and soft percussion at around 01:28, with after that these wahwah effects around 02:15.

I am not fully sure about the tone at 02:52, I think that it might have to be one tone higher or lower, but I don't know what your intention was there.

How are you producing the track? Live with synthesizers or with a DAW?

It sounds like you are going to a new style which is kind of a mix between ambient and modern synthwave sounds, I don't know if I am right with that?

This track is full of variety, transitions and interesting sounds. I like it a lot.

Midnights-Ocean responds:

Thanks! Yeah at 2:52 it was originally going to be higher I think but I liked the interesting sound the lower note made in contrast. I kinda figured though it might be alittle off putting for people. Oh well. Maybe I'll fix it at some point if I remember.

This particular track was a more live set up. I wrote the melodies I wanted in the daw and used it as a midi sequencer to play my outboard synths live while I did the reverb adjustments on the fly.

I'm honestly not really sure what I'm going for when I make music. It usually just takes form and I try to make that form sound as good as I can. This one definitely has a more modern retro feel to it, which I'm happy with, since I guess that's a popular sound right now.

Thanks again! Glad you like :)

I think this track works, at first I had to come into it, but I like the transition which you make at 0:30 which gives more layers and depth to the track. The synth and bell/harpsichord fit very well with the existing lead melody. I really like that part, the bell is the best part of this short track in my opinion. A SNES song gives a lot of limitations with effects but where you could use effects I hear slight reverbs in the percussions so that seems to be in it as well.

It clearly represents what the title of your song is, so you definitely got that down.

Good job.

Tomaspalazzi responds:

Thank you so much! I also like the bell part a lot, I only use the SnesVerb plugin to make the Echo-high speed delay that serves as "Reverb" In the SNES system, little by little gonna learn more about the limitations and following practicing in the style :-)

Wonderful song with a fantastic atmosphere and use of lead synths, additional synths, perfect balancing of all elements and fitting drums. 80s sounding bass. Good job.

trevor8 responds:

thanks!

Interesting to see that you use LMMS as well. Top quality production, excellent build up, good EQ and panning with the drums, awesome synths.

Kysertron responds:

Thank you so much for the review! :D

Well, I try my best for the production. This is one of 6 songs in Imminent Outbreak. To rank which are the best in my opinion, this would be the second-best song of the whole EP (in my opinion, of course). It is a close second to a song yet to be uploaded but will be soon.

I like the synths coming in around 0:48, I really like what you did here at the beginning with the combination of the xylophone and synths, love that effect around 01:30, the panning around 02:20 and after that of them, in which the melodic progression seems to be a good representation of the title of this track.

That guitar at 05:06 really gives a great post-sound to the previous parts of the track.

Midnights-Ocean responds:

Thanks so much for the review. This was an older tune of mine that I decided to remix into a longer ambient version. Turned out decent I think. All the elements fell into place pretty easily.
